My favourite sport

I don’t really have a favourite sport really. If I was going to pick one sport though it would be running, I try to enter as many running races as possible.

Holiday destination

It has to be New York! Such an amazing place! Don’t get me wrong, I need a hot holiday soaking up the sun at least once a year!

What I studied

I graduated from Chester University with a BSc Honours Degree in Human Nutrition but since graduating I have gained more qualifications relating to my area of work including my Level 2 Gym Qualification, GP Exercise Referral and cancer referral.

What I do at Your Move

I run the Your Move kids and families programmes which involves nutrition and activity sessions for children and families of all ages. I also go out into community settings and schools to deliver healthy eating and activity workshops to increase awareness and the importance of leading a healthy lifestyle and being a healthy weight.

What I like about working here

I love working with all the families on the programmes and seeing the difference it is making to their lives. It’s so rewarding when they take everything on board. But most of all, it’s a fun job to be in! Not everyone can come home from work saying they’ve been playing dodgeball and making fruit smoothies for the day!

About Us

The YMCA on the Fylde Coast is very unique. As well as having our own health and fitness centres, we work in partnership with Wyre and Fylde Borough Councils and have been commissioned by Lancashire County Council and Fylde and Wyre CCG, to ensure all members of our community have access to superb facilities and programmes, so we can all enjoy and benefit from an active lifestyle.
